Mick the Lick's 40th

hand

It was the night of Saturday 29th March 2008. A hurriedly arranged do was organised at the Victoria bikers pub in Coalville. Mickey Busa thought of it, spoke to Andy Pres, they did all the arranging - all we had to do was turn up.

With Mickey Baker being the likeable sort of bloke he is, although the do was a little last minute, everyone tried their best to be there. What attrocious weather it was! Andy Pres, Naz, Tracey, Mickey Busa, Chris, Wigan Paul (You know him, the Kawasaki rider), Big Steve MTL's best mate, yours truly Squatter and spouse Mags all turned up - no one on bikes, but it was really horrid weather.

Mag and I arrived at about 8ish and good news, Speckled Hen was on draught at the time I thought terrific. Later in the evening well lets just say it wasn't quite the good news as I first thought. In fairness they served until at least 11pm then provided hot tea, coffee, cocoa and horlicks till very very late, mickey tells me, I hear he has been reccomended for a truth awareness course!. (You're bound to get tired after 7 hours of drinkin' Speckled Hen.)

A fantastic night and although turning 40 can be a little traumatic, the guest of honour seemed to have a good time.

Entertainment was via live music, there was three bands on as I remember, the first and second band were ok, but nothing special. Then wow Beholder came on stage an absolutely first class band with a tremendous repertoire. Followed by disco by Gaffer John till everyone fell over or went home.

A fantastic night and although turning 40 can be a little traumatic, the guest of honour seemed to have a good time. The licensee of the Victoria Nita and her spouse John are a great couple and we arranged a sleep over. So with little or no sleep for anyone, including Nita & John, at about 9am we were provided with lashings of hot tea & coffee and bacon baps, and lovely weather a different season to the night when we arrived.

Just the job. A great night out by all that attended. Mickey Baker - Thanks for being such a good bloke. Mickey Busa and Andy Pres, Thanks for arranging the do. Everyone else, Thanks for being there and being such good company. Please can we have more notice and more peoples attendance at mags 50th in December?
