The RBLR Mud Bath Rally 2010

Organisation and planning for this outing was as thin as a gnat's ball sack. We didn't so much rendezvous as congeal (at my gaff). Thanks to a Sudafed fuelled brain spaz, I shed Andy from the convoy after 2 miles and proceeded to get the rest of us lost in Smethwick - I bizarrely directed Andy to the site in one hit, but failed to get myself to the right postcode region.

Top little rally though, smacked of our own on the basis of vibe and numbers (160 odd). For reasons best know to RBL the theme was Christmas and they laid it on good and thick with costumes, snow machines and an Elvis impersonator rolling out Pelvis Xmas classics. On the subject of bands, they allowed a fair few "local young, up and comings" the odd half hour slot during the day, which was nice. Still, the proper dollar bands laid on for the evenings were all fair cop. The Saturday headliner sounded flippin ace from my vantage point back at the tent (babysitting).

The weather could have been better, particularly for those with a leaky tent, but the rain did nothing to dampen spirits, t'was a very chilled out scene.

Silly games time was great for the club - firstly because Salutations were the only club out of three non-RBL clubs invited to turn up and secondly, because the boys and girls (and Fackin' Legend) won the majority of 'em.

Mudd baff...good laff...great rally...for Sally!!

Once the ‘leaky’ tent was erected by someone with ‘hundreds of years’ of experience at putting up tents we managed to hit the cider and chill out. The Beetles were the last ones to arrive with no kids in tow...a very strange sight indeed. No kids...how did they manage that one!! Friday night was boozy, fun and a bit noisy when alouetta was sang rather loudly at some silly hour...probably!

Saturday brought more fun, as some of us went sightseeing...yes in Oldbury...the others chilled and watched the magician. Then the silly games began. Nigel won the first prize for throwing a soft toy (no comment)...followed by the sally boys walking on a plank with the girls taking the final prize for more plank walking, bloody ell if nowt else we are good at walking on planks of wood...oh and throwing soft toys!

Christmas came along with people in silly costumes and snow which went well with the bleedin rain. Elvis sang to Alex who celebrated her 11th birthday after blowing the only candle that would light on her Asda birthday cake...yes Asda the crap shop that sells leaky tents!! More boozing, with Nigel and Kaza spinning everyone around to Greek music and seeing how long it would take them to fall over...not long in my case!

What a great rally.
